| Mogilev Regional Local Lore Museum unveils «Weaponry of Victory» exhibition, dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Belarus' liberation from the Nazis.
The display demonstrates Soviet small arms, «home-made» partisan weapons from Germany and European countries from 1891 — 1945. It provides much information on basic WWII weapons and showcases rare examples from Belgium, the Czech Republic and France — over 100 original items of arms, ammuniton, and ordance. 5 August 2009 |
Natalya Golitsyna presented the would be Museum of World War I with newspapers, magazines and songs of the army and the fleet of that period. In November 11,2008 a memorial stone to honour those who died on the territory of Belarus during World War I was opened in Minsk. It is beleived to be the event of the historical importance launching the truth about that war. «I am happy that the museun of World War I will be opened in Minsk»- the princess said. No.709 Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus dated December 29,2008 establishes an excise on the production of hot drinks produced in accordance with traditional technologies on the basis of old recipes with a volume of ethyl alcohol being 28%.
According to the List approved by the Government of the RB the right to produce "samogon» (moonshine) and to sell it at its production site has been given to four legal entities. They are: — "Dudutki Museum of Ancient Technologies and Folk Handicrafts; -"Belovezhskaya Pushcha» National Park;
-"Belarusian Ethnographical Village» Cultural and Entertainment Centre (the village of Buinichy of the Mogilev region);
- «Logoisk» Sport Complex (30 km. northwest of Minsk).
The product is subjected to an expertise at the Republican Scientific and Practical Centre on Food Products Quality and Safety under the Ministry for Health to receive a confirmation that its production allows to receive ecologically clean and not harmful for health drink. Only after that a drink is allowed to demonstrate a mode of life of Belarusians and be tasted by visitors.
Interesting to know:
The first one who turned the production of «samogon» into something worth seing was Evgeniy Budinas — the founder of «Dudutki» Museum. Various ancient technologies including bread baking, cheese making, «samogon» production are shown to visitors in this museum. Pablo Picasso's 38 masterpieces are dispalyed at the VK.Byalynitsky-Birilya Museum in Mogilev — a branch of the National Art Museum of Belarus. Mogilev is the first reginoal capital to host ceramics by Bablo Picasso from the National Art Museum collection: dishes, vases, plates, jugs and other household items. Belarus-born Nadezhda Leger — Hodasevich, a wife of the famous artist Ferdinand Leger and Pablo Picasso's friend, has donated the collection to the Belarusian museum.. Artworks by the Leger couple, primarily graphical pieces, will also be on show in Mogilev. The exhibition will be opened for two months. 25 March 2009 |
